Exhibition: Works by the Hollywood photographer Sam Shaw (1912–1999) (2006)

Sam Shaw has created in the year 1954, with the iconic flying skirt image of Marilyn Monroe over the subway grate, not only one of the most famous pictures, but also the most published photograph of the 20th century. He met and began working with Marilyn Monroe early in her career and continued to shoot her through most of her professional life. He remained a close friend nearly her entire life.

His ability as a special photographer came trough in the pictures he made of many Hollywood stars, amongst others of Sophia Loren, Romy Schneider, Audrey Hepburn and Marlon Brando.
